Professionals with a HR, Financial or Business background would be desirable, but we would welcome applications from individuals with other work backgrounds who have the enthusiasm to volunteer in a vital not-for-profit organisation. As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will have the opportunity to ensure that our important and often lifesaving work continues into the future. We offer bespoke training and support and we meet every quarter. You will also be able to join one of our sub committees and play an important role in the strategic management of the charity. Fundraising Volunteer role description We are looking for individuals who will develop relationships with community and corporate supporters as well as supporting events. If you are a positive, persuasive and enthusiastic individual, why not join our team of volunteer fundraisers? This opportunity will give you an understanding of domestic abuse and help you gain experience of events, community and corporate fundraising and will increase your confidence in communicating with supporters. Women’s Aid Ambassadors Do you have a good knowledge of your local area, including businesses and community groups? Are you able to communicate confidently with individuals and groups and have lots of energy and willingness to use your own initiative to get results? Do you want to make a difference in your community and help us to support victims of domestic abuse and their children? If the answer is YES, then we would love to hear from you! We are looking to recruit Volunteer Ambassadors to help raise awareness of our often lifesaving work and to raise funds to keep our refuges open. You will play a vital role in representing us at local events and functions, speaking about our work and the importance of the funds our supporters raise. This is a varied role and you could do one, or all, of the following activities: Attending cheque presentations on behalf of the Charity to thank and say a few words about how the money raised will help to make a difference. Delivering talks to local community groups, schools, faith groups, Rotary Clubs, Round Tables, Women’s Institute groups etc. about the work of the Charity and the ways in which they could help us achieve our goals. Giving media interviews on the radio or to the press.
