Based within the Housing Department, the Specialist Domestic Abuse worker will offer a consultative role, offer families at risk of homelessness, as a result of domestic abuse, advice in relation to their housing needs through one to one appointments or joint appointments with their Housing Support Worker.

The Housing Link Worker will provide specialist risk assessments for residents wishing to remain in their own home, taking into consideration the nature of the abuse and the abuse profile.

She will also, facilitate access to refuge for residents having to leave their home due to domestic abuse;either within one of Women's Aid Leciestershire  Ltd's Leicester City or Leicestershire County's refuges. If no space is available locally, wherever possible, the Specialist Worker will secure refuge provision and supervise this transition.

Should residents return to or move within the district as a result of domestic abuse, this service will provide a resettlement function to ensure residents are supported through this transition period and provide supported links to the local community.
